A fine example of an early Kansai-region flower basket for use in the Chinese-inspired sencha style of tea-drinking; typical features include the overall form with a rounded-cylindrical base widening to a bowl-shaped upper section, tall handle, heavy staining, dense weave, and elaborate knotting.
